Information about our Club in English.
Rotaract is a worldwide organization made up of innovative, community-minded young professional and student volunteers aged between 18 and 30 years. We work as partners-in-service with our parent organization Rotary International and like Rotary, Rotaract is non-political and non-denominational.
The purpose of Rotaract Clubs is to provide young men and women with an opportunity to enhance knowledge and skills that will assist them in personal development, to address the physical and social needs of their communities, and to promote better relations between all people worldwide through a framework of friendship and service.
Rotaract has been an official program of Rotary International since 1968, and is a very important part of Rotary’s family. Rotaract clubs provide an excellent training ground for future leaders in the community, as well as a great network and opportunity for socializing, and the chance to give something back to the community.
Rotaract Club Passau
The Rotaract Club in Passau is one of the largest Rotaract Clubs in Germany and currently has more than 30 members. Founded in 1982 and chartered in 1983, we serve the local community with our social projects for now more than 30 years. Our members are mostly students at the University of Passau who actively want to support their local community.
Passau is a university town in Lower Bavaria at the border to Austria and located in the heart of Europe. Famously known as the ‘Three Rivers City’, it is shaped by the confluencing rivers Danube, Inn and Ilz.
Our meetings take place every two weeks on Thursday evening during the semester. For details please refer to our program. For contact details please refer to the information below.
Our most prominent project is ‘Profs @ Turntables’ – an event where we invite the University of Passau’s professors to deejay for their students and a good cause. Thanks to the event we were able to raise several thousand Euros over the years. We have donated these funds to support, amongst others, Passau’s Pediatric Clinic and Flood Relief, the ‘Kinderkrebshilfe Rottal-Inn’ (Child Cancer Aid Rottal-Inn) and ‘Shelterbox’. We also regularly collect non-perishable food for the ‘Passauer Tafel’ (Passau Food Assistance Center) through our ‘Buy 1 More’ activity.
We are always happy about new faces. If you are interested in our club and can identifiy with our values, we invite you to join us at the meetings as a guest. For details please refer to our program. For contact details please refer to the information below.
